Television is a great medium for learning. Like books and stories, television is the next great representation of our society and culture.

While watching nothing but soap operas and flashy battle monster cartoons is good for no one, there are ways that television brings quality education and entertainment into our homes.

Children should be raised with the knowledge of how to make responsible programing choices. Our family enjoys educational and play along children's shows and educational documentaries. The volume goes down during commercials or we're watching commercial free programming on trusted channels.

Television is not a babysitter, it is a healthy way to spend time playing along as a family with children's entertainers, doing dances and activities or just relaxing and enjoying a story together.

Commercials aren't appreciated in our home. We don't need to buy every popular toy and my daughter is happy with the hand me downs she gets without needing to buy all the newest things.

I watch television with my kids. It goes off when the show we're watching is done.

Television is great, in moderation!
