"To Err Is Human, To Forgive Divine" I don't know who is responsible for that idiom but it seems to come up repeatedly in life. We, mortals, seem to be capable of
constant error and those words, "I'm sorry" are uttered, almost without meaning. I believe there really is no perfect apology. It would make more sense to make a
concerted effort to eliminate the need for apology from our lives, to work at thinking first, before we act, to try not to inflict pain and hurt on each other,
to put ourselves in another's place. When we fail, as humans are prone to do, and
we make an apology, then I think our actions are far more meaningful than the words we say. What we do when we utter, "I'm sorry" will mean much more to the recipient -
do we inflict that hurt again, have we learned from our mistakes?
