Powerful career strategies for women

Women are working harder than ever; raising families, working, going to school, and some doing all three at the same time. It is amazing what women can do, and as women we also need to know some good strategies for our careers.

We should get as much schooling as possible. Men were earning the most degrees in the 1970s and so that lead to men making more money. As time creeps along and cultural norms change, women are now earning the majority of degrees and have higher representation in higher paying jobs than men.

Know the Internet. And if you do not know it, learn it. The Internet is a big thing now and if you do not know it you are at a disadvantage from everyone else who does. Employers like workers who spend less time doing what needs to get done so that more can be done. If you know the Internet, you spend less time looking for something because you know where to go and what to do.

As the more interpersonal and feeling sex, women have the ability to connect better with consumers, partners and other colleagues. This gives women a boost in the workplace because the workforce is looking for that personal touch to keep their buyers and clients coming back for more.

You must network. When women are asked to list people for a team, most of the time, they list people below and above them, rather than people of wealth and influence as most men would.

Be confident! Know who you are and what you are willing to do and capable of. Walk with a strut, have good posture, wear nice clothes, have dignity, and respect for yourself and other people.

These few little tips will give you a bigger, better chance of doing what you always wanted. When you can do these, you can get the job done.
