Racism: the feelings it conjures plays in our collective unconscious like the need for fire.
But why?
There has always existed an instinctual urge in humanity to seek out those that are different, categorize them, and make assumptions based on our our culture and its inherent beliefs. Often, these cultural beliefs are based on the supremacy of that culture and therefore its people.
Anyone outside of that small sphere tends to be regarded as Odd at best and dangerous at worst.
Until the human race comes to the collective conclusion that life on earth cannot continue without the entire world united in one cause will racism vanish.
Many believe that this event will be the return of a savior or other religious figure or event prophesied by their God(s).
There are others who tend to gravitate to the theory that humanity will "outgrow" the need for cultural, and thus, racial supremacy at some future date when ignorance will be miraculously replaced with knowledge and wisdom.
I adhere to neither of these paradigms of thought and contend that only a world-wide catastrophic event would finally unite humanity. The basis for cultural and religious importance is continued survival of the people who adorn it.
If catastrophe shows its head to the planet,as a whole, an entirely new culture will be born, which, in doctrine and practice, will outshine all those that came before it.
And, thus, racism will finally die.
