A million dollars isn't very much really. Anyone who owns a home in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a millionaire. Big deal. Being a Millionaire used to have greater meaning because our money used to be worth more.
I don't mind being a part of an hierarchy. The best artists have private patrons, Ballet companies have directors,...I wish people in this country were more able to discuss the fact that we have a class society.
To me, the media tries to tear people apart with race, gender, and age, but for some reason no-one wants to talk about class. Dare we say things about "the unwashed"...?
We all know those with much money and no class, and conversely, some people live very well on hardly any money, quality being the determining factor. Are you not house rich and cash poor? I know many people who are in just that exact situation.
If some one is a Billionaire, I'll take notice and hope they tithe. At the end of his life, Colgate donated over 50% of his profit to his church. I do not begrudge anyone their wealth, I hope someday to be fortunate myself, and yield good decisions upon those whose life I touch.
