Coke. Definitely the champ in this competition. Particularly Vanilla Coke.
Ohhhh that vanilla goodness. First of all, thank you Coca-Cola for bringing back Vanilla Coke! Here's my thoughts on why Coke is better than Pepsi...
Honestly, there will never be world peace. That's right folks, never. Go ahead, all of you that disagree, yell throw things at your computer screen, whatever. But hear me out. Justice is completely nonexistent without crime, love doesn't exist without hatred, and compassion can't pull through without hurt and misfortune. But Vanilla Coke, now that can exist no matter what. If everyone had just one sip of a Vanilla Coke at the same time, not only would there be three seconds of peace (which is the closest we'll ever come to world peace), but everyone's mouths would be occupied and nobody would be able to argue, yell, or hate. Instead, people would be overcome by the dark, mysterious, vanilla-infused, carbonated sweetness that is the essence of Vanilla Coke.
Now, Pepsi... Sure, the Pepsi company displays its patriotic nature with the red, white, and blue logo that nonverbally claims itself as America's beverage. But hey, that's all they've got. And come on, who really wants to buy a drink from a company that was once represented by Britney Spears? We all saw what happened to her after one too many cans of Pepsi. Okay, maybe that wasn't the reason for her insane head-shaving breakdown and her back-off-before-I-attack-you-w ith-my-umbrella scene. Anyway... Pepsi doesn't have nearly the variety of flavors that Coke has come to accumulate, and Vanilla Pepsi doesn't exactly roll off the tongue in an appealing manner (one too many syllables if you ask me).
Another factor: marketing. Although the Pepsi company may have the patriotic edge, Coke works psychologically. The color red has been proven to make a person hungry. So, since Coke products (not diet coke sodas) leave a filmy residue on your tongue that makes you crave more, when you're hungry what do you want? A Coke. If you're smart, a Vanilla Coke ;). Plus it tastes much better than that carbonated syrup Pepsi claims is soda.
Yeah, Coke definitely wins on this one.
