Living by example is the sure way to guide our children towards religion. We must understand that our children are watching our every move. As Christians there are certain standards that we need to follow, and by living the life in front of our children, they will be led in the correct path as well. Notice I said led, and not forced. We know as Christian adults what we should be looking at and listening to, how we should be speaking, what we should be doing, as well as where we should be going. Our children emulate what they see, and they even start at an early age wanting to be just like mommy and daddy. Is our life a good enough example for our children to follow? We should not have the attitude that it is our life and we can live it as we please. Until our children reach the age of accountability and can distinguish between right and wrong, their life is our life. They are little extensions of who we are and what we represent. What we have in our heart will transfer outwardly and our children will be the first to stand and take notice. Maybe we should take a look at our life and remember we are being watched very closely by our children. Our life is the only Bible our children may ever read. We should live as we know in our hearts we should, and we will lead our children towards religion in a positive and healthy manner.
