I have found that despite beliefs the cost has nothing to do with whether it is better then the rest. Sometimes it all depends on the pet. Some animals can only get the best results from the most costly pet foods. While my dog won't put on weight, nor eat expensive food as well as she would the cheapest food around. The one thing to pay attention to when buying cheap dog foods is to make sure they do not have fillers, as some companies find it cheaper to add sand instead of making sure that everything is safe for the animal. Seeing as they often do not have to list this on the bags and can slip this past most quality checks. Not only do these not give proper nutrition, they can make the animal sick. As far as anything else goes let your animal decide. If you do have money issues it is best to go to the local tractor supply, or Wal-Mart, I have found that you have a better chance of getting good quality for a good price.
