"My Thirst"
The raging sun beats down harder
and my soul screams out in agony.
Why is the pain so lively,
and the thirst so strong?
The lips that endure my face
no longer feel the moistness of my mouth.
The sweat drips from my face;
and drips again.
I run to a tree for shade and shelter,
but no protection is found.
I look to the clouds as my savior
and pray that they block the burning beast from my soul.
When no one is looking, I lick the sweat from my face
in hopes that it will satisfy me.
Nothing works,
there is no relief.
As the day drags on,
the hot ball burns.
The dark clouds come,
and night falls.
All that is left for me is the light of the moon
and the falling rain.
My thirst is quenched.

Comfort as the water falls
In darkened forest there

True magic in the air
