I got fired because I was too slow. As an airbrush artist at the mall,I was supposed to keep up with traffic and finish a T shirt in 10 minutes. I couldn't do it.
I just couldn't let my work go walking around out there half finished. It stood for something and was too personal to do a rush job that I wasn't proud of.
When they fired me I cried for two days because I was single with two small children to support. Then I picked my self up and decided not to put myself in that position again.

The local flea market was air conditioned and very reasonable so I checked it out.
I could have my own business there and have my kids with me. I had never had my own business but it turned out to be easy to set up. I got a tax number and an occupational liscense and that was it. Soon there were people wanting lessons during the week while the kids were in school and they were with me on the week ends.

That was 10 years ago and I have never worked for anyone else in all that time.
If I had not been fired ,I would probably still be working in the mall.
The manager of that T shirt shop did me the biggest favor of my life.
