To me, this topic seems a bit vague. A management company could mean a financial investment company, a company who provides management services to an organization or perhaps even a company who manages your assets or others. In writing this article, I will assume that we are looking at a just any company that provides management services and give the basic pointers to look for.
One of the first things to look out for is of course the track record of the management company. If they have been recommended to you by someone close, the chances are that they could be a good choice. But do remember that each person's needs is different. While they may work for your friend, they may still not work for you.
The next item to look for is the business model of the management company. Depending on the type of management you are looking for, the business model must be one that caters not only towards your current needs but must be able to extend to your future needs. Is the management company one that only works for short term or are they prepared to work for longer terms to ensure your continual success?
Lastly but not least, you should get to know the team behind the organization and not just the person whom you are dealing with. This is because the individual may move on but your account is with the organization. If what you need can be supplied by one individual and not the organization, then you should not be choosing that management company to work with.
