With a new adventure hiding around every corner, Tucson provides a cultural plethora that will entertain even the most skeptical visitor. At first glance one would imagine Tucson as a barren desert filled with cacti and blowing sand. While it is true that you don't have to look very far to find such spectacles in Tucson, it is also true that Tucson offers a unique perspective of the southwest that few other locations can provide.
Tucson is no doubt most notorious for its climate... it is after all, a desert. However, what most do not realize is it is the varying climate itself that provides much of the variety in Tucson. The hot and dry summer is abruptly interrupted each and every year by a monsoon season that offers fantastic summer weather and sets the desert on fire with life. Suddenly, the desert is in full bloom providing colors and life that one cannot possible grasp without casting their own gaze upon it. During the winter, one could not ask for better climate, the temperature is perfect for outdoor activities.
Things getting a little hot during the summer? No problem head up to Mount Lemmon and enjoy the weather in the mid 70's with water and trees abound. Have an itch for some old west site seeing, head down to the Old Tucson Studios and observe Hollywood's definition of what the old west should be, or better yet... wander just down the road from Tucson and discover Tombstone as it really was. Hiker's will find themselves in an environment abundant with opportunity, with trails that can feel as if you are the first to explore this wonderful side of nature or beaten paths where you can share the site with other tourists. If golf is your thing, Tucson has a golf course at every corner, from championship level courses to amateur city courses, you are sure to find something to suite you. Experience Mexican food at its finest, catch a play at one of the theaters in town. Snap photos until you heart is content, from blazing sunsets, to lightning to serene landscapes...
The possibilities are endless in Tucson, if you can dream it you can find it here. Experience the southwest and the desert the way it was meant to be experienced. Tucson should not only be high on your list of destinations but it will undoubtedly remain on the list for return visits. Who knows... you may just become a now bird yourself!
