Most of us need a spiritual cleanup. As we go along in life people hurt us, offend us, abuse us, lie about us, mistreat us, steal from us, cheat on us and just give us a bad day from time to time.
Many of us are carrying things around that are hindering or hurting us. What I will show you is how to get free, free from the curse that affects our life when we hold on to bitterness, resentment, anger or the like.
Make a list on a piece of blank paper of anyone who, when you think of their name, you have uneasy feelings or even bad thoughts come up. You would like to get even. They deserve it after what they did! Or maybe you have some other type of bad response when their name comes up. You may have even talked about what they did to others. You shared the bad report. In this list include everyone and anyone you can think of who has offended you, cheated you, ripped you off, slandered you, abused you verbally or physically or sexually, used you, ran over you or otherwise gave you a bad day. Go back as far as you can remember and take time so you don't forget anyone.
Then go down the list one by one addressing each person individually by name. Include the following issues for each one as you proceed as well as anything that comes to your mind that you believe is important or significant:
1. Pray and ask God to remit all past sins that this person committed and any you committed in regard to this individual.
2. Forgive this person for whatever they did. Speak it out loud and mean it. You don't have to feel like to mean it. You are doing it in obedience to the Word of God.
3. Ask God to bless this person and to pour His goodness out on him or her.
4. Pray for this person's salvation and that God would send someone across their path to witness to them so they might have a place in heaven and not miss out on eternal life.
If you did this you have set yourself free. The curse without a cause cannot come. Any plan the enemy had formed against you because of the sin of bitterness, unforgiveness and such is now broken. You can praise God because you are now free and you will see changes, good changes come into your life.
May the blessings of God be to you and your family always.
