Every person that buys an SUV has a reason to buy one.
It is part of every American that says you should not be restricted to do something just because it is deemed bad.
In my extended family, there are four mid-size SUVs. One of them is used on special occasions, and the other three are being used everyday because of what they were bought to do.

Whether you get an SUV or a big pickup truck, they are going to need the same amount of energy to get the job done. If you have a pickup truck, it has a smaller engine and more fuel efficient, but it will take longer to get to the worksite, if it is even able to hold the same amount of material that an SUV will hold.
So, when it comes to the question of "Should we still be buying SUVs?", I think the answer is yes, because sometimes other automobiles just can't do it!
