Your love took me by the hand
And led me into your world
Unprepared, caught unawares
As into your arms I was hurled
My mind couldn't help
But be curious and wonder
Soon a tragic lovespell
I found myself under
I rationalized myself
My actions and deceit
You were so pure
You tasted so sweet
Our passion burned
Like a hot glowing ember
Definitely this was
An affair to remember
But it was only that-
A simple affair
I couldn't take it
Too much guilt to bear
The hardest thing
I've had to ever do
Was to tell you that I
Could never be with you
Because even though
We both knew it would fail
We tried to make it work
But to no avail
I promised I'd always
Gladly be your friend
Just like the beginning
And through to the end

Wakefulness reluctantly surrenders to slumber
Only to find
Under the starry sky at night
Your eyes reflect the pale moonlight
The mirrors to your soul I see
When your eyes are gazing

The opportunity to admit was all but gone,
My face stressed the emotions that to him were unknown,
Too many times i walked
