Pennies for me and mine, are just as valuable now as it was fifty or one hundred years ago.They hold the same power now as they did when my children were small. Obviously, I'm not talking about the monetary value. Where the monetary value of the copper coin is concerned, I have never known its worth from the financial aspect.

For me and mine, the value of the tiny orange coin is priceless. My children would go with me to pay bills and grocery shop, when they were so young. It was tremendously boring and long for them. The highlight of day would not be my satisfaction in having the bills paid or food on the table. The highlight of the day was always the last stop.

Outside our town office building stands a small water fountain. Every day we went by there, they would grasp a tiny orange coin in their little hands and with every beat of their heart - they would make a wish and toss the little coin into the fountain.

Nowadays, its my grandchildren turn with their parents.

For me and mine, pennies are worth the same as ever before. How much is the wish of a child worth? For us, it costs a penny but - that penny is priceless.
