The future of the Boston Celtics looks bright for next season because they will win the NBA finals. Now with the three player tandem of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, Boston will once again rise to the top of the NBA.
What is it about these three players that will help their organization achieve the success they have coveted since 1986? First of all, Paul Pierce is one of the most explosive players in the game; he has the ability to get to the hoop and the foul line. In the 2005/2006 campaign he led the league in free throw attempts per game. For a decade Paul Pierce has been THE player that Boston fans have stayed to watch. I strongly believe even if the Celtics hadn't acquired the Big Ticket they were still going to have a strong season because of their moves on draft day.
Ray Allen is second all-time in three pointers made, he is a seven time all-star. In two and half seasons in Seattle he helped rebuild the team, going on to win the Northwest Division in 2005. Allen a 32 year old shooting guard had his best season last year averaging 26 points per game. The Boston Celtics acquired Ray Allen in order to get KG. And for Kevin Garnett, the thought of playing with both Ray Allen and Paul Pierce was too much to resist.
There is not need to delve too deep into the The Big Ticket's numbers because most everyone knows he has put up staggering numbers. Both Larry Bird and Wilt Chamberlain averaged 20 pts 10 reb and 4 assists over six consecutive seasons, Garnett has done it for nine seasons. Elite company...The most promising part for the Celtics is the success that Pierce and Allen have both had without ever playing alongside a dominate big man. Now they have the chance to play with one of the best big men ever. This trade will ensure that Boston goes down in history as one, if not the best franchise in sports history.
