Sweet treats for 100 calories or less

There's an old adage that says, something sweet makes a meal complete. This still may be true, but limiting that sweet to 100 calories or less may be more helpful now. With a growing number of overweight people today, limiting the calories of sweets can be one way to help lower the statistics.

What are some sweet treats for 100 calories or less? Here are a few helpful suggestions.

If you prefer cookies, try a fig bar at 98 calories.
1 full size, low fat graham cracker sheet is only 60 calories.
2 regular size marshmallows are 75 calories.
1 fudge Popsicle is 90 calories
2 boxes of miniature raisins are only 84 calories
1 apple is 80 calories and 1 peach is 35 calories
Snack packs available in grocery stores of different food items, labeled 100 calories.

These are just a few examples of sweets containing 100 calories or less, including, two examples of fruit, which are always a wise choice, with the added health benefits they can also provide your diet.

Remember, any amounts may vary according to generic and name brand products. It's best to read the label yourself, to compare any differences in calories, before choosing your food item.

If you're not exactly sure as to the calorie amount when choosing a sweet food, limiting the portion amount to a smaller bite, piece, or slice, can help ensure that you are lowering the caloric amount of a regular piece of that same food item.

When time and your schedule permit you, having the ability to make your own, home baked, sweet items, can help you in lowering the calorie amount. For example, by reducing the cookie to bite size or smaller size, you can lower the amount of calories that an average size cookie contains.

Indulging in sweets, that are 100 calories or less, shouldn't put a strain on your diet, when the rest of your diet is one of healthy, nutritious foods.
