Not in the Mood for Love? Here are Some Tips from the Experts.
According experts, some people find that they are just no in the mood for sex. Physical issues aside, it seems that common everyday stress plays a major role in declining libido - or sexual desire.
It is important to maintain our overall health through exercise and diet. Good physical health keeps us sexually healthy. But sex therapists say it's important not to neglect the power of the mind body connection and suggest that just trying to "let go" can enhance libido and increase sexual desire. Think back and try to remember what preceded the best sex you've had - was it during a vacation, quiet times with candlelight or just good conversation? Change your mindset from being productive to being intimate to move toward a healthier sex life - this takes time and focus.
For starters, eat a balanced diet. Stop overeating and consume plenty of fruits and vegetables. Scientific evidence has proven that exercise is a potent libido booster.
Set the mood for intimacy. Come home from work and think about ways to get rid of the stress of the day. Touch your partner using gentle massage. Everyone likes a nice back or neck rub.
Don't forget the benefits of a romantic environment. Indulge in a candelight dinner - turn off the TV and play some music.
Find ways to reconnect. Studies have shown that women who have low sexual desire simply are not thinking about sex. After all, most of us really do want to maintain our sexuality.
