The Egyptian roots to New Age faith

differ from Harvey's, in some cases being even reversed. Let's elaborate a little bit more on the above scenario, making the conclusions quantitatively and conceptually more precise.

First, let's get a little deeper into the reason of the geometrical shape of octahedron. Within the accepted wisdom, if some material (notice the word material not Matter, used later on to mean what falls under our tactile senses) fills the Space, then this material must have the following qualities: a) must exhibit uncontrollable deformations, a conclusion made possible by the fact that the hard bodies move freely through it, and b) must also exhibit uncontrollable stresses. Here by uncontrollable we understand "impossible to restrain by human means". This does not mean unobservable or non measurable. Indeed, if we just observe this stuff that fills the Space, and it exhibits a perceptible deformation, we are not sure that this deformation is not made under the action of some unobservable forces. On the other hand, if we can perform experiments with this material, measuring forces for instance, we have to confine experimentation to a given volume and this may induce uncontrollable strains. Thus the stuff must be described by a mathematical entity accounting for both these aspects of human knowledge. To the best of our knowledge, these properties can be accounted for within the framework of the theory of stresses and deformations, inasmuch as these physical occurrences are pictured mathematically by matrices, particularly tensors. If the stuff let us call it the fabric of Space for now is isotropic from the point of view of the relationship between the deformation and stress, then one can deduce a unique mathematical description of this fabric, identical with the classical description of the electromagnetic fields. As a matter of fact, classically the fabric of Space has been termed as Ether and the electromagnetic field was always regarded as a dynamical manifestation of this Ether. We just take the idea of Ether to another level: the electromagnetic field is only what Man could technologically grasp up to this point in the development of Science and Society.

Now, if a society decides, for a reason or another, to harness the energy of the fabric of Space then the most obvious thing to do is to create a piece of Matter that can be used as a reference frame attached to a symmetric tensor, representing the stresses of the Ether. It can be shown that the average of the quantity represented
