How diet pills work

Diet Pills Eh?
The answer we are all looking for - a magical pill that will do away with all our fatty rolls and bulges as we sit and watch TV. I wish!
But the truth is there is no magic combined in the ingredients of these miracle pills. I don't care what brand name they are using it's all the same. They contain a diuretic (so that you lose some of your water weight but you essentially require water to live and burn calories), fiber (so that bowel movements are more regular and the food is pushed out of your stomach) and maybe some caffeine to top it all off. But for $30 dollars a bottle or more wouldn't it just be easier to drink some tea with a bran muffin?

Don't get me wrong, I have tried them, I have actually done chemistry experiments for school on the ingredients of diet pills from weight loss clinics and how they effect the body. Yes, there are some perks to it all, the fiber allows you to get full faster and feel full for longer, the diuretic does allow your body to expel some water weight (very helpful during that bloating time of the month) and the caffeine gives you more energy to hopefully be more active.
But as I said there is no miracle agent contained in these pills and if you really want the benefits that they advertise the easiest, safest and cheapest way to do that is through the obvious traditional approach: diet and exercise. Sorry, it had to be said. Diet pills are the get rich quick scam that convinces us to believe that they are magical but as they say on the bottle: for best results combine with a healthy diet and daily exercise - Duh!
But hey, whatever helps, I used these miracle pills are a motivational aid. I thought: "Well if I gotta diet and be active I may as well get more bang for my buck and add this miracle pill into the mix to see even better results."
Just be careful to not take the diet pill for an extended period of time. Sure they are okay if you have a party to go to next week and you want to fit into that slinky black dress but removing your body's water and altering it's system is not a wise thing to do after a while.
I do wonder though that if diet pills did actually work and they helped people to lose weight then why aren't more people skinny?
