The future of astronomy

The future of astronomy is brighter than any star in the sky. With technology advancing quickly, the idea of conquering space is coming more and more realistic. As the future of astronomy becomes clearer to us, there are some important goals that NASA and other space agencies are striving to achieve.

As the population continues to grow on Earth, we will need to find a planet to expand on soon. Right now, the most likely planet is Mars. Mars has many features that Earth has including similar climate and seasons. George W. Bush has already announced that a manned Mars exploration is a long term goal. NASA has already begun to work on the Onion Crew Exploration Vehicle that is supposed to send a man on the Moon by 2020. Then, they can use the Moon as a base to send a man to Mars. One day, the human race may have a second home planet.

From all the space missions that have happened, trash is collecting in space. The waste consists of anything from rocket parts, dust, human waste, needles, and other random items. Right now, the International Space Station has a shield to prevent damage from these hazards. However, we can't sit around doing nothing about these particles. Ideas have already been thrown around including robots that go around collecting trash in space. Pretty soon, we'll have garbage disposal in space too.

One of the primary goals of space travel in the first place was to answer the burning question is there life out there? Although there have been many supposed UFO sightings, there hasn't been any proof of aliens or life out there. Scientists are already searching for one celled organisms in space by examining meteors that fall to the Earth and carrying out studies on other planets. In the future, scientists plan to conduct studies on Jupiter's Moon, Europa, which is believed to have liquid water beneath its surface.

The future of astronomy is still unpredictable. Anything can happen. Before we landed on the Moon, the thought of going to space was outrageous and insane. Whatever happens in the next fifty years to astronomy will change the course of human civilization forever.
