How to get your child to eat vegetables

I am not sure if it came from my pregnancy and eating fruit everyday or just luck!
My daughter (3) loves all fruit and vegetables. She would prefer to sit and eat red paprika and carrots with a little bowl of cashew nuts on the side, than a bag of chips. Of course she likes her chocolate and she can have it because she really is a healthy eater.

Are there tricks of the trade to pass on to parents who are not so lucky?

I think so.. It all depends on what you eat in front of your kids. If you are not going to buy bananas and eat one with them then you cannot expect them to do so. Explore new fruits and vegetables and take them to the store to pick them out. If that does not work then perhaps visit a farm and have them pick their own. Once they see where it comes from and that they had something to do with the process of picking it then they maybe more inspired. If you make it a fun day and enjoy picking the fruit and vegetables with them it becomes less of a chore or demand to eat it and more of a pleasure.

When my daughter watches Bugs Bunny she almost always wants a carrot, to be just like Bugs. So another idea could be to find selective videos that have snacking of fruit and vegetables on them with other children allowing your child to see that other kids eat it and want to take part.

I think most importantly make it fun and step back and watch them enjoy their fruit and veggies!
