Barry Bonds is the man many baseball fans love to hate. Attend a single San Francisco ball game and you will get a feeling for what I mean. There is a game being played, but there is a distinct magnetism in the air. One cant help but find themselves glued to the left field grass when he roams the outfield. Be it love or hate, we all respect what he can do with a baseball bat, and we all realize that the man is a living legend. What will his legacy become, thats a good question. Do fans hate him as much as the media portrays? Absolutely not. Barry Bonds as a man is brash and leaning towards arrogance, however he is just in his confidence in his abilities. Watching a Bonds at bat is pure electricity, every fan in the stadium sits on the edge of his or her seat... or stands at full attention. Boos erupt as do cheers, flash bulbs flash with unimaginable intensity as he watches pitch after pitch sail wide or high. When he finally does unleash that compact high velocity swing we all ohh and ahh. You cant help but expect that he do something fantastic. Yes, fans dislike Barry Bonds the man. However, we all realize the size of the history he towers over. We have the distinct pleasure of observing one of the greatest baseball players of all time... and night in, night out the man performs. Anything less than a laser beam into the right field bleachers, or into the bay itself is short of our expectations. No other player demands such respect or cast such fear into the heart of opposing players. Barry Bonds is more than a man, Barry Bonds represents that figure that we all aspire to be as a child. Love him or hate him, every little boy who has ever swung a bat would aspire to be in his position and that is what makes us love what he does. Baseball and Barry Bonds, the two have become synonymous... and we all watch and we all secretly await to see that monumental blast that places him and our generation into the history books.
