waited long enough, let's see if you can do it in a day!" Ridiculous, right? Well, some of us have been there more times than we'd like to admit. Oh and when you set yourself up for failure, that depression is always there to catch you and hold you down. You can always count on that!
Now the bright side of things...
Just like any other disease, habit or addiction, whatever suites your situation best; admitting that it's there and owning up to your responsibilities in life will need to be the first steps. Now, I'm not trying to preach to anyone or sit here and think I know the answers or even that I'm better than anyone; I'll be the first one to tell you that I'm definitely no better and I surely don't have the answers. But what I do have is lived experiences and advice. Take it or leave it, that's up to you.
I believe we are all put here for a reason and whether it's that time in our lives where we know that reason or not, we need to love ourselves(which at times is easier said than done), and we need to look around us at the people in our lives that do care and love us. Those of us who are parents, need to look ahead and the lives of our children. Do you want them to feel this way? Do you want them to grow up and say they don't 'really' know you as a parent because you were too tired or lazy to get out of bed, or that you found some sort of escape from reality because you were too depressed to face it, and now you're old and your babies are all grown up and don't want or need you? No! We do not want that. No matter who you are, where you're from, your goals, aspirations, talents, dreams, YOU are the ONLY person that is 100% guaranteed to be with you every waking moment of your life! Get used to it and start loving yourself! Take care of your mind, body and soul. You only live once, make it count. When we are in our last years, looking back, what do we want to see of ourselves?
If this can help just one person, I have done my job as a human being. If not, I'll just keep trying!
Beat that depression and start living your life how you know you want and deserve to.
