How to fight off the every day blues

Completely exhausted and drained of the everyday hurdles, you sit, sunken into your couch; knowing tomorrow is an early day. It feels like an endless journey through the living room, down the hall, into the bed that you won't want to wake from in the morning. Finally, finding a comfortable position, you realize you forgot to set the alarm clock! Because you really need one more thing to get in your way!

I envy those who can click their eyes open, stretch the covers off of themselves and be ready to start the day. I must go back to sleep at least twelve times before I angrily roll myself out of bed! I will say, I am going to give Michael's "flop" technique a try. I need any extra boost I can get!
It seems, anymore, that the days grow together and become one long cloudy, stop-motion dream...or nightmare! How many goals are we missing? Are we even setting goals anymore? How many parents are waiting until their children are waking them up? How many college students are up for days at a time, studying, just to make sure they don't lose the scholarship that will help further their education? Or a independent person giving up hope because they have not yet started a family or received that promotion?
I'd like to say America has become swallowed in depression, only I fear it's not just us. Anymore, I see so many different cultures and people affected by this burden.
Some think depression is a state of mind or a phase in ones life. Is it? Or is it a learned habit? Have generations become lazy; too lazy to just get up and face the music? Or is it genetics? A chemical imbalance in the brain, perhaps. I'm not even sure professionals have the answer. I do know that it is up to us, the "depressant", to take charge and take our lives back. Whether you choose to seek professional help and try the available medications out there. Or if talking with friends and family; people who you know you can trust. Some people turn to God or whatever religion may be fitting. There are those who try to battle depression on their own, which sometimes feeds the anxiety that sometimes comes along with depression. Making those bi-polar moments in our lives when we tend to get ahead of ourselves and bite off more than we can chew; in hopes that we maybe can handle things better now. No, too much.
Yes, that anxiety is the silent partner and sometimes more damaging. Making us think, "You can accomplish that goal, but you have to hurry and do it NOW!" "Don't wait for the right time...you've already
