A science themed party works very well in the 5 to 12 year old group as they are just being introduced to these subjects in school.Children are fascinated by space and this space themed science party is a great hit with girls and boys alike. Here is a step by step guide to take the hassle out of the party
1-List the children you are inviting.Send out invitations well in advance and specify
the theme. You can set the party mood with the invite itself by drawing or sticking
stars,sun etc on the invite.
2-Spend a little time selecting the decorations.Choose different sized balloons for
planets. All planets have different characteristics such as shape, colour etc and
a little hunting will give you the needed things. For example take a big yellow
balloon for the sun.Stick red and orange glittered curling ribbon on it for the
rays.Mars can be shown as the red planet and so on.Hang them on the ceiling or fill
them with helium and stand them in the room.Balloons with a glitter finish are
available so that they glow in the dark.Similarly make stars(with cardboard and
silver paper) and the moon.
3-Make a few rockets with stiff coloured paper big enough for a child to go in.
4-Hire glittery dresses and astronaut suits for the children to wear.Or you could ask
them to come dressed for the theme.
5-Have the cake decorated as a star or rocket etc.
6-Let your creativity flow with the food and return gifts.Star shaped cookies
sandwiches and plates can be easily arranged.
7-Devise a treasure hunt with an alien filled with goodies as the treasure.Fill a
baby suit with rags and gifts and stick a doll head on top for the alien.
8-Put on the music, relax and enjoy while little stars and astronauts and rockets
dance in your living room.
