America is obsessed with technology

America's obsession with technology borders our love of the automobile, and why not? Technology is a wonderful thing, and given a chance and the proper exposure technology provides a venue for bettering our way of life. Technology is fun, it keeps in touch, it provides us with a link to our loved ones no matter how far the distance. Imagine the brilliance of a world where you can carry on a conversation with a person half way around the world and feel as if he/she is right next door? Imagine a world where a person can go to a medical facility and have a machine quickly and thoroughly analyze toxin levels, take intimate pictures of troubled areas and provide a surgeon with a tool that not only limits his or her time in diagnosing a problem, but cuts down on the chances of a mistake. Imagine a world where a person's vision can be corrected with a computer controlled laser. Imagine a world where a device that can fit in your pocket can tell you the proper turn to take, where to find that awesome Italian restaurant and what the traffic conditions are like on your projected route. Imagine a world where a small telephone can not only make calls from virtually anywhere in the world, but it can do your taxes, check your email, find directions, all in all make your life a little easier and a lot more enjoyable. Not so tough to imagine is it? Now imagine your life with it...

Obsession with technology is not only a fascination for our great country, it is a necessity for our continued growth. It is our doorway into a new frontier, a better way of life. Technology is not a fancy gizmo our gadget, it is the human race saying "we can, and we will!". America obsessed with technology? Is there any other way?
