Yes, Don Imus should be allowed back on the air. "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." Jesus said that and even those who don't believe in Jesus should to some degree believe the teachings. There is nobody on the face of this planet or any other planet for that matter, who is perfect. This is now becoming annoying at the very least. I'll guarantee that each and every one of us have said something that is irate, prejudiced and hateful in some way. I'm not downgrading and trivializing what Don Imus said, yes it was a hateful and mean remark but come on people, you can't tell me for one minute that not one of you haven't said something "politically incorrect."
I turn on the radio every morning and I pull out several pieces of dialog that is offensive to me but I'm not going to go run home to my mommy and tell her someone said something bad about me. Why wouldn't I? Because I'm not perfect and I've said some pretty crappy things to people in my time and I would expect a little forgiveness and that means FORGETTING too. I hear African American people talking about white people all the time but I don't get too upset about it. Why the hell do I care what people say about me, I know who I am and I don't care what others say about me, on air or off the air. Mostly, because a lot of what people say on the air is hype anyway.
Yes, it was upsetting to some people as it was to me what Don Imus said. I have a nephew who is half African American so I suppose that "part" of me was a little pissed off, but it's life now. We are surrounded by different races, different cultures, different religions and who gives a crap what people say. If we are comfortable with who we are as a race, culture, or religion...who really cares what is said about us, unless of course we are really uncomfortable with ourselves. Don Imus...shame on you for saying such a hateful thing...but you are forgiven and I will now FORGET it and move on with my life...it's the least I can do...you know...since I'm not perfect AND NEITHER ARE ANY OF YOU!
