There are few sitcoms that have magic. The magic I speak of is the magic that happens as you are watching the show and realize... "oh my god, that's my life!" or "that happened to me!" Credit must be given to the actors and actresses in the show for their roles of bringing the writing to life.

But, the writers get most of the credit. David Feeney, Ron Hart, Nastaran Dibai, Jeffrey Hodes, John Beck and Sylvia Green have written for a combined 80 episodes. The show has had 26 different writers contribute the comedic writing, which I have found to be supurb.

What really makes this show stand apart from any other is the chemistry between Jim Belushi and Courtney Thorne-Smith. They are simply convincing in their roles. Add in Larry Joe Campbell and Kimberly Williams (Courtney's on-screen dorky brother and constantly PMSing sister) and you have a typical American household.

The other component to this show are the lessons learned about relationships. The show is written with the intention of, I think, giving advice on how to have a healthy marriage. They get the messages across through humor and understanding.

Crazy as it sounds... I think this show is probably the best sitcom out there.
