Jacqueline Kennedy was a first lady of elegance, beauty and intelligence. She was the first lady that I remembered as a child. She appeared like a princess to me. I always thought that all President's wives should have that grace and charm of Jacqueline. I was disappointed to learn later that this wasn't always true. I also remember my mother having a Look or Time magazine with her face on the cover, placed on our living room end table. Americans were interested who this first lady was and what she was doing. Later she would remarry and become Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
