To lose those extra pounds and burn unwanted fat, the use of a treadmill is the choice of many today. Prices have certainly become a lot more competitive in the last decade and the lure of being able to work out in the convenience of your home has certainly contributed to the increased demand for treadmills. With a treadmill, you can customize your workout, choosing, the level of intensity, whether you wish to walk or run, and at what pace. You can also decide if your work out is for fat burning purposes, for fitness or a combination of both.
With a treadmill, you are able to exercise whenever you get the urge, and you burn the same amount of calories whether you are walking or jogging outside or on the treadmill. Before you head out to your fitness store or your nearest Walmart to purchase a treadmill, it is important that you do some research and ask questions about the different types of treadmill available, the ones that are best suited for your purposes, and the price range available. Below are some aspects you will need to investigate further before buying a treadmill.
What price are you willing to pay? For motorized treadmills, prices can range from $400 to $4,000. If you don't mind a non-motorized one, they are available for as little as $200. Prices can range between $4,000 and $10,000 for the commercial or medical type treadmill. So when you are working out at the gym or fitness center, you probably are using top of the line treadmills.
You will need to decide what price range you can afford. But experts suggest that buying quality will cost you a bit more. Do check the warranty. If you only have a 90 day warranty as opposed to a longer warranty with more expensive version, you need to do the math to determine
what would be best for you in the long term.
Decide how you will be using the treadmill. I know that we all have the best intentions when bringing home that new exercise equipment. But nothing is sadder than to see an expensive treadmill turned into a clothes horse. If you need it for only the occasional walk , there may be no need to invest heavily in one. On the other hand if you need it for more regular strenuous activity, you may want to look at the mid range prices. For athletic training, of course, you will be considering a treadmill that is sturdy, designed to protect you and withstand whatever you throw its way, meaning, you may be looking at the higher end treadmill.
