If one is responsible enough to not only own, but drive a car, then one is responsible enough to pay for the cost of insurance, despite ones age or lack of experience behind the wheel. With owning and driving a motor vehicle comes the responsibility of paying for the insurance on said vehicle, as well as keeping the vehicle on the road(price of gas,maintenance,etc.). Therefore it's important that teenagers pay their own car insurance,not only to teach them how to handle responsibility, but also as a lesson in money management. Young adults need to know how to manage money for the future, and paying ones own car insurance is the first experience one has in money management.
On the other hand, we also have to take into consideration the parents of the new driver. We all know that things are getting more and more expensive in todays money oriented world and so it would benefit the parents if the teenager had a job and paid their own insurance, rather then the parents having to pay the costs. Not only would the parents appreciate the teenagers work ethic, but the parents would most likely award the teenager with more adult like responsibilities.
In conclusion, it would benefit everyone involved if the teenager did pay their own car insurance. With paying ones own insurance comes responsibility,the parent would most likely reward their teenager for being such a hard worker and balancing school and work. Also it would benefit the parent if the teenager paid their own insurance, due to the high costs of living these days. And last but not least, it prepares the teenager for the outside world,in the way of managing money and obtaining and keeping a job. Therefore, teenage drivers should pay their own car insurance, as it benefits the teenager and the parents.
