In the heat of summer is there anything better than a cold refreshing drink(are you thinking lemonade?)...except maybe one with a kick? Well get out your blenders and I will share with you one of my favorites, and sure to be one of yours....

You can also serve this drink on the rocks, but on a really hot day doesn't a blended drink stay colder and refresh better?

I call my concoction a Cadillac Cooler. Why? No, i didn't blend a Caddy into it, but my best friend, whom I invented the drink for, owns 3 of these amazing cars, so I thought, why not?

First off, I take some lemonade, store bought, powdered, in a can, or homemade, whatever your personal taste for lemonade is.....I usually make a gallon to keep on hand.

Then I take my favorite flavored vodka(mine is Effin Raspberry) but strawberry or citrus, or blueberry or....there are a lot of choices out there you know?

I mix 3/1 or, 3 shots lemonade to every 1 shot of vodka. I chose this because my Cadillac friend is a bit of a lightweight, and also so that you can enjoy the drink before coming intoxicated!

If you have chosen regular or citrus vodka, all you have to do is throw everything in the blender and hit a button! Presto, a great refreshing drink that everyone can enjoy...if however you have chosen a flavored vodka like myself, there are a few other things you might do to enhance the taste....

For my own(raspberry) I like to take fresh raspberries(or frozen ones if fresh aren't in season) and throw them into my blender to add a little extra flavor. You can do the same with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, whatever you desire. The fairs I worked at as a teenager always come to mind in the summer, so I automatically think fruit smoothies and lemonade as summer approaches. These fruity lemonade's seem to be a great combination of both and I hope you enjoy them as much as my friends and I have!

And to fancy them up for a barbecue or dinner party, serve them in margarita glasses with a sugared(as opposed to a salty margarita) rim and a slice of lemon or whatever fruit you have chosen!
