Does the US have a moral obligation to stay in Iraq until Peace is secured?
For this journalist it took allot of thinking and research to be able to honestly answer this question. Most of what I learned only disgusted me more, but then I had to ask myself one question to be able to answer this one.
What will happen to the people of Iraq if we do abandon them now?

Does anyone remember "The Fall of Saigon?" I have researched Vietnam and the end of that war thoroughly, and the way it ended should be used as an example as to what will happen to the Iraq people. They will be slaughtered, just as so many South Vietnamese were.
The countries around Iraq like Syria, Iran, Turkey and other countries are just waiting for our troops to pull out because when we do, the real war will begin, and the death toll will reach record levels. Control over Iraq's wealth would substantially boost the ego of these self destructive countries that are all striving for power.
Just imagine for a moment if the President of Iran or Syria were to gain control of the trillions of dollars of wealth that will come with gaining control over Iraq. The massive amounts of weapons that can be purchased with that kind of money, could easily give rise to another Hitler Regime, like the one our soldiers are fighting today, called the Taliban, AlQuida, and Hamas regimes.
If we as Americans allow such great power to be achieved by these consuming forces, then we as Americans are inviting them on to our shores.
Countries like Indonesia are praying that we will help them, even though they are Islam by their religion, they are not a country of terrorists, they are a country being terrorized. Most Americans are not even aware of the influences over the government there that is allowing such regimes as the Taliban, Hamas, and AlQuida to change the laws of the country, and our refusal to do anything about it has made this journalist all too aware of the fact that we are not fighting a global war on terror, we are just claiming to be.
The UK and Canada are now battling against these powers on their homeland's soil, and if Americans back down and give these criminals more financing through control of Iraq, then we have chosen to allow our own homeland to be conquered.
Every country on the planet has a stake in their own futures by deciding to either fight, contain, and control Iraq's wealth, or not.
I know that we went into Iraq under what most believe to be false pretenses, I however see it a bit differently. Have no
