Parents who refuse vaccinations for their babies, as my wife and I did, face the fact that health professionals are likely to not be pleased. Though it is your right, many people want to have answers when confronted with doctors, nurses, and even family and friends over the decision not to vaccinate. My daughter spent the first five months of her life in a hospital, so I know what a parent can go through in this decision. For months we daily faced the negative stereotypes of nurses and doctors thinking we were uneducated, fools, or from a backward culture. What follows is the result of my research on the subject, that I used to counter these assumptions of my character.
Vaccines represent a sometimes fatal assault on the immune system that has been linked to a variety of illnesses, and babies are exposed to them from birth with the Hepatitis B vaccine. At two months babies are expected to be administered the multivalent DTaP along with four other vaccines. Multivalent vaccines (the 3 in 1) have been shown to cause more damage. Particularly susceptible to dis-ease from vaccination are children with acute or chronic health problems. Another full round of all five vaccines and the multivalent DTaP are scheduled at 4 months, six months, and once more before 18 months. This schedule can be viewed at:

Some specific problems have become associated with modern vaccines yet the FDA has failed to act. Autism has been linked to mercury and aluminum used to preserve the dead virus, because vaccines have to sit on a shelf for a while before being used, much like items in a grocery store which require preservatives of some kind. All chemical preservatives pose a potential health threat, and the risks associated with injecting preservatives directly into a baby's bloodstream are much higher.
The vaccine industry, with the help of the FDA, is currently misleading the public by declaring mercury-containing thimerosal to be completely safe for children. This is based off a corporate-initiated ban on thimerosal use in vaccines which was followed by increasing cases of autism. Researchers assumed, always bad to assume in science, that autism must be caused by something besides mercury in vaccines. The problem with this research is that autism generally shows up years later in vaccinated children, so that autism rates would continue to climb as those children had been exposed to thimerosal before it was pulled from the vaccines.
