Poetry: Death

Don't believe the things you hear about that final breath.
As sure as you are reading this, there IS life after death!
There is a place where angels wait to take your hand and fly,
To lead you on their loving wings into the endless sky.

That's just the way it happened when they met me at the light.
Tears of joy rained down on us as we took off in flight.
Then we reached The Kingdom and the welcome music played.
Loved ones came to greet me so I wouldn't be afraid.

One showed me all the rainbows that were stretched across the sky,
Then pointed out the flowers with a twinkle in her eye.
Another had a feast prepared, and as I sat to eat,
A velvet throne was offered as were slippers for my feet.

The sun is always shining and the streets are paved with gold.
Eternity's a certainty a treasure to behold.
So please don't cry with thoughts of me. There's no need to be sad.
What I've got now is so much more than anything I had!
