For many patients gastric bypass surgery is a life saver, quite literally . However for others it can be a different story. What you really need to know about gastric bypass surgery is that deaths do happen. Some deaths from this procedure will actually happen during the surgery. As most patients will be morbidly obese this is really no surprise. Although deaths are reasonably rare it is something patients need to be aware of. However if your state of health due to your excess weight is very bad the advantages will probably outweigh the risks.
People only tend to be referred for such procedures if they are significantly overweight, have tried dieting and failed, feel that they have no alternative and their health is compromised by their weight. As with all surgery it can be painful, as can the recovery period. Having this surgery may also cost you a lot financially, in many ways including loss of earnings.
Even just doing a very basic breakdown of this surgery you can see that the whole area is a minefield. The benefits for the majority of patients are a new lease of life and the eradication of many of their health problems. However you need to remember that it will still be down to you not to overeat. If you do so after having a gastric bypass you will make
