"Two and a Half Men," which first aired in 2003, is without a doubt the best comedy on CBS. It's a great family comedy that can get laughs from all ages. The acting is great. The writing is great. Everything about this show proves that it will last for a long, long time.
Charlie Sheen (Charlie) and Jon Cryer (Alan) make an outstanding big brother-little brother relationship. Their chemistry is absolutely perfect. Alan is trying to deal with his wife leaving him and raising his son while Charlie is trying to deal with Alan. Charlie is frustrated by his brother's inability to move on, mainly due to the fact he needs his bachelor pad empty for womanizing.
As the two discuss, argue, and fight, Alan's son Jake (Angus T. Jones) is soaking it all in. As he says in one episode, his mind is like a sponge. His misunderstandings, childhood innocence, and blunt honesty make for some hilarious comebacks and general statements. The cleaning lady, Berta, also provides much hilarity to the show. She mainly feeds off of what the other characters say and comes back with a witty line. Then there's Rose, Charlie's stalker. Her hilarity comes from her random personality. She is either extremely smart and helpful, extremely crazy, or, as most often occurs, both. Last, but certainly not least, there's the mother. Holland Taylor makes the perfect mother who knows how to work her sons to get whatever she wants out of them. She has the power, and they absolutely hate her for it.
This show is great for anyone who likes a classic, extremely funny sitcom. The acting is magnificent, and so is the writing. This show has many, many seasons ahead of it as long as the chemistry can stay, and I don't see that ending any time soon. Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer are just too good. This is the best comedy CBS has put out EVER!
