When it came to my own wedding, I was the ultimate cheapskate, but my husband and I had one of the best weddings I have seen yet, by far! I kept the wedding under 1000$ for everything!
Every Woman wants their first wedding to be their dream wedding. And, rightfully so, she should have that dream wedding!
Since I was on a very tight budget, the first plan I made was where to have the wedding. I wanted a beautiful spot, with roses, and outdoors. However, the areas near where I lived were not cheap, and way off of budget, so I began to search the parks near where I lived for a nice romantic place to hold a wedding.
As luck would have it, I found a Park near the Zoo, that was absolutely gorgeous! there were roses everywhere, several Ramadas, nicely shaded areas, and a huge gazebo that would hold 150 guests, plus some! The grass was green, and there was a huge pond in the background, with all the wildlife you would expect a park to have near a zoo, it was a dream come true!
I contacted the Parks and Recreation center who allowed me to rent the area for 60$ for half of the day, until 10 pm. Even though I was on a waiting list for 3 months, it was completely worth it!
For a nice personal touch, I created all of my wedding invites via computer, and hand. (this was a lot of work!) and mailed them out immediately.

I ordered 100 chairs at the initial wedding, and of course, shopped around to get the better pricing, 50$.
I also found my minister through the phonebook, who was more than happy to perform the ceremony for a nominal donation of 50$.
I already had the music covered. My soon to be husband recorded songs on disc that would be played after the wedding at the reception. We had a huge karaoke machine that kept the music coming, and guests who would monitor the soundtrack when it ended, and pop a new one in!
I had also hit up the dollar stores for wedding tid bits, and bought flowers and vases for all the tables, including
