It seems to me that the question itself is the answer. Are there EASY ways to lose weight? That's what our society has come to as we have become spoiled with technological advances in medicine, as in other fields. Because we want to make the best use of our time by multi-tasking, as a society we Americans have become obese.
The pills, diets and surgery provide no long-term 'cure' for anyone. They are quick-fixes that do not address the true issue. And that is, what do we need to do to reshape ourselves mentally and physically? The answer is something we should have learned growing up.
Nothing is more important to you or your family than your health. Not beauty, not money, not a job. To be healthy, one needs to know their body, know their health history, and knowing the family history. And knowing what it means to be fit!
By knowing your body, I mean that one should be active constantly And I don't mean by doing housework or driving to the park with your kids. What is necessary is to have some kind of constant physical activity that you plan and fit into your daily life that challenges your cardiovascular system as you age. A person needs to flex their muscles to know if those muscles are becoming weak, and to burn the excess fat accumulated from those foods we love and can't do without. Any constant physical activity can also reduce one's stress levels and provide the necessary social interaction to make one laugh (especially if you aren't good at it). Mental fitness is as important to our health as is physical activity. Some would say more.
Knowing your body also means to have an idea what foods do what to your body. How does your body react to specific foods? How do you feel after each meal? Does a certain meal make you feel sleepy, flatulent, uneasy, constipated, irregular? Each of these conditions is a sign and reaction of some food or ingredient in the meal.
It is also vitally important that we know which medications do what to our bodies.
Some medications are necessary to regulate our metabolism when a personal or family condition is prevalent. However, many people can be weaned off medications, either partially, or totally through regular physical activity.
Family history enters the equation too. It helps to know one's weaknesses and potential threats. If your family has a history of diabetes or heart issues, these must be factored in. What activities threaten these weaknesses? What can one do to strengthen them?
