Songs: Struggle in life

by kss

Her eyes are all fogged over
she's got bags underneath
There are bills hanging over head
that she can't seem to meet

She's got to be strong
and end this downward slope
She tries and tries
cause this is what she knows

The children she helps raise
are hers, his, and theirs.
The only thing to do is share
Although sometimes it just
does not seem fair

Life's to short to stress
There's so much to live for
That's what she says each
morning when getting dressed
before walking out the door

She has the things she needs
to make though taken for
granted everyday

Two eyes that can see
Two ears that can hear
Two arms that can embrace
Two hands that can feel

As she sits and thinks about
all the things she thought she'd be
The highs and lows that this life brings
sometimes makes it hard for anyone to dream

Things once thought important
Things once thought had worth
Doesn't measure up to the rain
that falls to earth

Things that are important
are usually overlooked
Things that should be cherished
should be written in a book

Two eyes that can see
Two ears that can hear
Two lips that can kiss
and a heart that can feel

As she looks into the eyes of her innocent child
She only hopes that innocence stays
no worries - no stress
Just a 'what if' kind of day
