I do not believe that immigrants do the jobs Americans don't want. I do believe that Americans steer clear of positions with companies that cater to immigrants. Examples (cleaning services and landscapers). Who wants to go to work all day and have no one speak your countries language? Doesn't sound like an enjoyable job to me.
I also believe the immigrants word is used loosely in this form. When a person comes to this country (or any other for that matter) they should be doing it for the sole intent of become part of that country for what ever their reasons. (Education, Employment, Etc) You will find that our immigrant Italians, Polocks, Germans, are more warmly received and easier for our people to work with. Why? I can only assume that they learn our countries language and accept our life that we have to offer.
