We are instructed by the self-appointed social scientists in this country to let John Edwards grieve in his own fashion. Power, after all, can be such an elixer, not for her, but for him.
Women, since the beginning, have always been more loyal than men. Mrs. Edwards is no different. Whether through generations of matriarchal conditioning, or just better D.N.A.,she assumes the role of the better human being. Speaking from the male point of view I can only express my embarrassment over the male inability to bridle his ambition.

Ann Coulter, no wilting flower in her own right, took it upon herself to carry the water for the male society in this country. The fact that a woman, albeit a strong one, was the only pundit to take a real swing at Edwards leaves me feeling that the moral clarity exercised by men like my own 74 year father is now officially on life support.
The explosion of single women raising children in this country is no accident. In many ways the "Two Americas" platform that Edwards is currently campaigning on is rooted in the very behavior he is condoning by his actions. The baby boomer male is too in love with his own press, forgetting what made him fall in love with himself to begin with; the love of a woman. Ambition, in its purest form, is rooted in the womb.
John Edward's "grief" is my shame, and I'll handle that in MY own fashion. Hopefully more men will look into the eyes of the women that have supported them for years and realize what seeking higher office really means.
