The trouble with Lindsey
Is Lindsey Lohan battling a genetic demon?

In the last few months Lindsey Lohan has made headlines time and time again for her drinking and other reckless behavior. On Tuesday July 24th Lindsey Lohan was arrested for the second time for driving under the influence. She also hard charges of cocaine possession as police discovered it on her while she was being booked.

There are disputing reports to whether or not Lindsey Lohan was actually operating a vehicle while she was intoxicated. When police arrived to the scene Lindsey was apparently fighting with her assistant's mother in a parking lot and there were many people around them. A spokes person for Lindsey Lohan says that no one seen the star actually driving her car. However police say that after investigating they were able to accurately determine that Lohan was driving under the influence.

Over the past year young stars have been constantly in the media for there bad behavior and out of control partying. There is always news coverage on what their last move was, but very few news reports ask what is really going on here?

The trouble with Lindsay in particular is not only her problem with alcohol and cocaine, but also with her physical health. As most people that follow the stories on Lindsey Lohan know she has severe asthma. Michael Lohan (Lindsey's father) is most concerned that his daughter was in possession of cocaine. Michael Lohan himself has been battling the law and addiction for most of Lindsey's life. With Lindsey's asthma cocaine is a potentially fatal mix as Michael said himself. "That cocaine can blow up Lindsey's heart at any time". He also stated that he had a family member die of that very cause.

Knowing the history of Lindsey's father Michael, you have to wonder if the young star is battling more then the pressures of Hollywood. Could Lindsey be battling a genetic demon that already had her hard wired for severe addiction? Although many studies have found that alcoholism and drug addiction have genetic components the actual gene that causes it has yet to be discovered. However scientific studies have proven the children of parents with addiction or 4 times more likely to grow up to be addicts themselves. It has also been proven that environmental factors play a key role in whether or not a child will grow up to be an addict. As prior reports have stated Lindsey Lohan did not have a stable child hood growing up. That Lindsey grew up in an abusive household which finally
