My husband is currently stationed on Fort Hood in Texas. We have been struggling along in this military existence for 4 yrs now. It's very hard. As an E-4 my husband makes a lot less than minimum wage considering the 24 hr work day. We are like a lot of other military families. Nowhere near to making ends meet. Living paycheck to paycheck. I had to get a job just so I could make my car payment and even then occasionally I have to get help from my family. We are in debt. Thousands of dollars worth. And every month it seems like we aren't even putting a small dent in it. My husband currently has two years left in the army and I'm scared to death that we won't be able to make it when he gets out because we won't be able to live. We will still be in debt and have no means of income until we find jobs back home. There is nothing good about being a military family. Not the pay, not the travel, not the war. It's an awful existence and I'm dreading the end yet looking forward to it all the same.
