Do you need a religion to be spiritual?

First off, the word "Religion", has nothing to with God. the word religion can cover a lot of territory, you can be religious about your job, about going to ball games, anything that you feel you can't do without.

That's why I prefer the word Christianity. Christianity is about being a part of the family of God. This makes us joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. Our Lord and Savior.

God is always there for you under any circumstance. All you need is to ask for His presence in your life, His forgiveness for your sins, and to make a commitment to follow Him. You will feel His spirit in your everyday walk with Him. A peace that passes all understanding.

You can worship anywhere, a church, at the lake, under a tree, in a peaceful park. He's already with you so it doesn't really matter where you are. God created everything around you, so where you are, so is He.

There are some religions as some people choose to call them that are actually satanic. The only spirit there, is the spirit of evil, of fear, of demonic destruction. None of which you want any part of if you want to follow Christ.

Religion is a dangerous word, because it causes people to be disillusioned thinking that it's something that it's not. I heard my neice tell her sister that wicca was now a recognized religion. I know some wiccan's believe in one thing, and others believe in something else. I see it in my own family. I really don't understand how the wiccan religion came to be in my family in the first place. My sister and I weren't raised that way.

They tell me that I just don't understand. Well, they're right on that. When God isn't the main reason for your belief, how do you call that a faith. What do some of these people believe in. Not just wicca, but some of the new age religions say that the old testament is outdated, and things are different now because of the new testament.

God didn't change the ten Commandments. He didn't give people the right to sin just because Jesus covered all their sins with His blood. People think that once they're saved, they are always saved. Not if you walk out of the will of God, and keep on sinning. You have to question whether they were ever saved at all.

Everybody has slips and falls short sometimes, but God's laws have not changed. You'd probably be amazed at how many times you will repent in your lifetime. I still have to. I'm not perfect either. But God is a good and loving God.

No religion is going to change Who God is, It won't change what He commanded us to do, or how we are to live. To live for Christ is the only true way to live. God's people are the body of Christ, not a religion. What God sees in your heart shows to Him who you are. Your faith and obedience in Him is what makes you spiritual.

I have a friend, that I introduced as our Methodist Minister, He informed me in no uncertain terms that He was not the Methodist Minister, He just preached the gospel of Jesus Christ at the Methodist Church. He wouldn't even put a Denomination with it. Your Spirituality is between You and God, Religion is just a word with more than one meaning.

With so many denominations and new age faiths, how does one trust in what's true and what's not? My Bible teaches me what's true and what's not. Where does the information for so many beliefs come from? Don't you ever wonder why people choose to believe in something that isn't even real? Where is the peace. How do they find a reason to wake up in the morning.

It tells us in scripture to assemble ourselves together, to worship together, to love together, but it doesn't say that we have to have a "religion" to be a part of the family of the Almighty God.
