I got a dog named "Rolver".
I'll tell you what that doggy likes to do.
She likes to go down by the back fence and look through a hole in the in the wood. Today I saw her gaping through the fence and she saw I saw she was gaping through the hole. I knew right away when she looked at me that she wanted to be free, to run and play like the humans. She wanted to know the world outside, to travel the endless countryside. But she doesn't know, or doesn't understand the countryside is trapped by roads and anyone in it is trapped by roads. roads...
And if you don't quite make it across a road, because a car has run into
you, you will no longer wander across the land. But there is a way we can give that freedom to you. I hope you understand, in a world of roads there is something society demands. So we put on a leash and go for a walk to see what we can see.
Theres a mad sole who sooths the air with his mumbles. He's been down by the lake for a couple years. I wish I could have payed more attention, I was too caught up in my own freedom to lend an ear to heal the broken heart of a mumbling someone, a mumbling someone who wouldn't wear a leash.
If my dog was free, I bet she'd go right up to him maybe he'd say hello as she sniffs his hand. Maybe he'd say, too me that its a very nice dog that likes to go adventuring with me.
I figured I'd set my dog free from the leash.. Sure enough, she went right up to the mumbling someone. He said, "I got the blues brother, I've got them real bad. I came down here to be by myself because I don't want to make you sad. I've been down hear longer than three years and your dog was the first one to comfort me." I smiled at him and I almost cried. When he told me his favorite doggy died...
becasue of the roads. roads...
Long Summer Saturday: we passed over Grover lane, took a left down Wain, passed over the overpass, grabbed some tofu at the Fast Gas, took a right on the corner on the right of the town if you hold the map of town upside down. Took a west down North Street, hung a right on Yes street, detoured left to No street. Didn't know we where on What street, until we saw the sign.
The cool eavening air caused my hands to be cold. I could see in rolvers eyes, that well have many more walks like these when we're old. We started walking back home. Rolver ran to sniff a garbage can, when she came back she had some mustard on her nose. "Rolver, I don't understand, Do you like having stuff gobbed on your nose.
Why don't you wipe it off or something." Then she started to lick the mustard! "Rolver, that came out of a garbage can!" Then Rolver wiped it on me! "Rolver!" I thought it would be good if she got washed off in a lake. So I said, "here Rolver, here's a stick" and then threw the stick across the road and in the water.
Then I saw a big old car whizzing down the street. I tryed to give my dog the freedom to be free to run and play and wander, but I did not want her to get run over. When I yelled "Hey Rolver! Watch out for that big old car!" I never thought that a big old car would run over me. Sure I guess we could have gone for a drive and not a walk. But I don't know, or don't understand what's the good of whizzing to get somewhere, if somewhere is craped, caged, wearing the leash of roads. roads...
