A guide to buying '80s music

Often mistaken as the laughing stock of music genre's, 80's music is truly in a class all by itself. While turning the radio dial, you can hear various music being played but any time an 80's song comes on, it's instantly identified. The music isn't just a style, it's got an emotion to it. Rarely do you hear an 80's hit that sings about the blues or has a sad ending. It's truly upbeat, feel-good music and that hits home for this writer.

Now, if I were to go to the store and try to find some suitable 80's music, the movie soundtrack section is the first place I would find myself. Most of the movies of the 80's carried the major hits on their soundtracks and if you're simply looking for a "best of" then you don't need to look any further. Movies such as "The Breakfast Club", "St. Elmos Fire", "Pretty In Pink", and "Footloose" will take you on a trip back to this generation of music that's often forgotten about but I assure you that it's a ride that you won't soon forget.
