How to start a business on a low budget

Yes, you can start your own business!

What's even more exciting: You can do it with minimal initial investment.

In the past, starting a business involved extraordinary financial risk and little hope of return. Unless you were a Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, or an Astor, and already had a substantial amount of money to invest, you were pretty much rowing up the creek without a paddle - if you know what I mean.

But in today's post-industrial, technocratic age, that's no longer true. You can start your own business in no time - and all for less than $200! And I'm not talking about some fly-by-night, multi-level marketing hoax. I'm talking about a legitimate business where you are the proprietor and you see profits monthly.

"So what do I need to get started?" you ask.

Simple. First, assuming you have the idea, you need to catch the entrepreneurial spirit. If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will. First decide whether starting your own business is what you really want to do. Let me tell you, running your own company ain't for the faint of heart. It took me years to get the entrepreneurial mindset. I didn't just wake up one morning, scratch my...head...and say to myself, "Gee, today looks like a good day to start a business."

NO! I wrestled to overcome self-doubt and underachievement for years before the opportunity presented itself. Acclaimed radio talk-show host Steve Harvey said that he was rudderless until the age of 29. Then he read a book titled "The Magic of Thinking Big" and it changed his life. By the time he was 45, he was a nationally-syndicated radio host, had his own TV sitcom, had starred in movies, and had been the leading comic in some of the most prestigious comedy clubs in the nation.

The question you've got to ask yourself is: "If Steve Harvey could do it, why can't I?" Once you've answered that question in the affirmative, watch how the universe will open up to your dreams.

Now, on to the nuts and bolts. Assuming you have a name, slogan, and logo (three essentials of any business) start by creating a website for yourself. Nowadays, a business without a web site is like an airplane without propellers - it's not gonna get off the ground.

Now, if you're one of those who's scared to death of technology, don't worry. There are many good sites that will allow you to purchase your very own domain name/URL address very cheaply. One such site is Hostway.com. They'll give you a domain and hosting space for under $7 a month. I mean, that's only a little more
